ANRML is setting up an Integrated Iron Ore Mining and Processing Plants Project, first of its kind in Nigeria, with focal point being mining the iron ore, beneficiating, pelletizing and transforming into DRI in Kaduna State. There will be a captive power plant based on the technology of recovery of Waste Heat generated in the process to power all the process units in the plant and township
The Project will mine over 4.704 Million tonnes of Iron Ore per annum to scale up to 5.88 million tonnes per annum. The Iron Ore Resource is certified as per NI 43 101 international standards by a reputed International Agency. ANRML has conducted Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) as per IFC performance standards. The Community Development Program is also in place.
Plant layouts and process engineering designs are developed along with material balancing through various renowned international consultants and equipment supply contracts are already finalized.
ANRML has prepared a comprehensive Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (“ESIA”). An ESIA is an assessment of the possible positive and negative impacts that a proposed project may have on the environment and communities, together consisting of the environmental and socio-economic aspects.
The ESIA has been prepared in line with the Equator Principles IV (“EP IV”), International Finance Corporation (“IFC”) Performance Standards (“PS”) on social and environmental sustainability and on the World Bank Group Environmental, Health, and Safety Guidelines (“EHS Guidelines”).
